Philip Morris International's Brands

Philip Morris International (PMI) is the leading cigarette maker around the world. The company has the most powerful and most varied brand portfolio in the tobacco industry, headed by Marlboro, number one selling brand worldwide, and L&M, the fourth widespread cigarette brand. Generally, 7of the leading 15 international cigarette brands in the world belong to PMI.

Marlboro

Marlboro is considered to be number one brand since 1972 and one of the strongest trademarks. In 2010, volume of Marlboro cigarettes outside the U.S. reached 297.4 billion units. In 2008, PMI introduced new brand structure with three characterized details for Marlboro cigarettes: Flavor, Gold and Fresh. Marlboro Flavor focuses on its rich flavor, Marlboro Gold on discovering new sizes in smoking, and Marlboro Fresh on changing taste sensations.

The cigarette maker constantly enriches its brand portfolio. The significant latest initiatives contain Marlboro Ice Blast and Marlboro Black Menthol.
